With 14,763 square kilometers of protected land bordering Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, it is also the largest. It has become the archetypal representation of a wild and unpolluted Africa because of its vast plains of unending grass that are tinted with the twisting shadows of acacia trees. Rich ecosystems can be found in their enormous stone kopjes, and the sheer quantity and variety of species that the plains support is astounding. Numerous animals, including the elusive leopard, hippos, several species of monkeys, and most significantly, a large number of larger and lesser flamingos, call the shore’s meadows home. In the woodland clearings beside the lake, there are a number of really nice private lodges and tented camps. They offer wonderful lodging and are constructed as locally as possible.
Day 9: Tarangire National Park /Airport
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. The harsh sun dries out the terrain, turning it a dusty red and making the withered grass as brittle as straw. The Tarangire River has shrunk to a mere shadow of what it was during the rainy season. But animals has overrun it. Since there is always water here, thirsty nomads have journeyed hundreds of parched kilometers. Make it to your lodge in time for your hot lunch. Enjoy your game drive in Tarangire National Park in the evening. You will then be driven to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
