The adventure begins at Machame Gate, where you’ll enter Kilimanjaro National Park. Trekking through the enchanting rainforest, you’ll gradually ascend to Machame Camp, where you’ll spend the first night under the starry sky.
As the trek continues, you’ll traverse the stunning Shira Plateau, catching panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Ascending the challenging Barranco Wall, you’ll find yourself in the alpine desert terrain, heading towards Karanga Camp, nestled beneath the glaciers.
Reaching Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt, you’ll prepare for the ultimate challenge. Starting the summit push in the darkness, you’ll navigate steep slopes, reaching Stella Point at sunrise. Pushing forward, you’ll conquer the majestic Uhuru Peak, standing on the roof of Africa.
Descending to Mweka Camp, you’ll reflect on your incredible achievement. The following day, the descent leads you through the lush rainforest, where you’ll receive your summit certificates at Mweka Gate.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Transfer to a hotel in Moshi
Meet your guide for a briefing and equipment check
Rest and prepare for the trek.
Day 2: Machame Gate (1,800 meters) to Machame Camp (3,000 meters)
After breakfast, drive to the Machame Gate
Complete park registration and meet the rest of the crew
Begin the trek through the lush rainforest
Ascend gradually, enjoying the scenic surroundings
Reach Machame Camp for overnight camping.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840 meters)
Start the day’s trek, leaving the rainforest behind
Traverse through Heather and Moorland zones
Ascend steeply along a rocky ridge known as the Shira Plateau
Reach Shira Camp, which offers stunning panoramic views
Overnight camping at Shira Camp.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,950 meters)
Continue trekking east towards Lava Tower (4,630 meters)
Enjoy the spectacular views of the Western Breach and surrounding glaciers
Descend to Barranco Camp through the beautiful Barranco Valley
Overnight camping at Barranco Camp.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995 meters)
Begin the day with a challenging climb up the Barranco Wall
Traverse through alpine desert terrain, dotted with unique flora
Reach Karanga Camp, located beneath the southern glaciers of Kilimanjaro
Overnight camping at Karanga Camp.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters)
Continue the ascent, crossing the barren landscape of the high desert
Arrive at Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt
Rest and prepare for the challenging summit night ahead

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) and descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters)

Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and savor the breathtaking views
Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest
Continue the descent to Mweka Camp for overnight camping.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters) and Departure
Descend through the lush rainforest, relishing in the accomplishment
Reach Mweka Gate and receive your summit certificates
Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi
