One of Tanzania’s most accessible parks, Arusha National Park is only a short drive between Arusha and Moshi. It’s a wonderful place for a day trip and an excellent place to start or conclude any journey to Tanzania.
There are many different types of landscapes in Arusha National Park, from huge savannahs and rainforests to acacia woodlands and even alpine vegetation on Mount Meru’s highest peaks. Arusha National Park is the largest giraffe population in the world and boasts remarkable wildlife concentrations for its size of little over 200 square miles.
In addition to the numerous zebra, hippos, elephants, and cape buffalo that may be seen here, game drives occasionally offer views of lions and leopards.
Game drives, canoeing, climbing Mount Meru, and walking safaris are a few fantastic activities you can do at Arusha National Park. One of the few national parks in Tanzania that allows walking safaris is this one.
In the past year, national park authorities have permitted walking safaris in additional parks on the northern safari circuit, including Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, and some fringe concessions on the edge of the Serengeti National Park. Walking safaris are a fantastic alternative to the traditional safari experience.
